  • Uptown is the bustling core of Charlotte, often referred to as the center city or downtown. It’s known for its vibrant city life, skyscrapers, and a mix of commercial and cultural attractions. Popular places in Uptown include the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the Queen City Core, and Bank of America Stadium, home to the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. Housing options in Uptown primarily consist of high-rise apartment buildings and condominiums, reflecting modern architectural styles.

  • NoDa, short for North Davidson, is an artsy neighborhood located just northeast of Uptown Charlotte. It’s known for its creative arts scene, eclectic atmosphere, and historic charm seen in the NoDa Arts District, featuring galleries, live music venues, and street art. You’ll find nightlife, bars, and shops along North Davidson Street. In NoDa, the housing options encompass a mix of historic mill houses, bungalows, apartments, and newer condos.

Neighborhoods

Well known attractions in South End include the Rail Trail, a popular 3.5 mile walking and biking path, as well as local shops, and the Atherton Mill Mall. In South End, the housing options range from historic mill lofts and bungalows to contemporary apartment buildings and condos.

  • Dilworth is a historic neighborhood located just south of Uptown, known for its charming tree-lined streets, stunning architecture, and a community feel. Make sure to visit Latta Park, a beautiful green space with playgrounds and a water feature, and East Boulevard, a popular street filled with restaurants, shops, and galleries. Architectural styles in the neighborhood vary, with many homes reflecting Colonial Revival, Craftsman, and Victorian influences.

  • Nestled just outside Uptown, Plaza Midwood is home to a deep history and a vibrant present, making it an alluring destination for art lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and avid shoppers. Originally established in the early 1900s, this charming district has evolved into a thriving community known for its artistic flair and diverse culinary scene, beckoning locals and visitors alike to explore its cultural and creative offerings.

  • University City is essentially (but not officially) its own city. The neighborhood is named for one shining tenant: The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Despite its proximity to the city, the university and its lively student culture have brought college-town spirit—not to mention fun pubs, dining hot spots and extensive retail—to the area. On football Saturdays, crowds dressed in green, white and gold pile into Jerry Richardson Stadium to cheer for the Charlotte 49ers. During the week, the neighborhood is all business. With more than 20 regional offices for Fortune 500 companies in this area, University Executive Park, University Research Park and Innovation Park employ thousands, and the completion of the LYNX Blue Line light rail extension makes access to Center City faster than ever.
